Wellness Bags
The COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on the mental health of teenagers. Specifically, the rates of depression and eating disorders increased. In collaboration with my cousin Isha, we organized a donation drive in support of the adolescent mental health unit and eating disorder clinics at North York General Hospital (both inpatient and outpatient). We assembled wellness bags for patients spending the holidays in the hospital, each containing items aimed at supporting their mental health and well-being while making their hospital stay more comfortable. These wellness bags contained colouring books, pencil crayons, blankets, fuzzy socks, hats, mittens and fidget toys. In total, we donated 25 wellness bags!
